Night photography is something I have always found to be pretty cool, so I was thrilled when I learnt about a meet up workshop which covered this. It was organised by London Photographic (https://www.meetup.com/londonphotographic/) and I had a great time learning about how to take night photos in the stunning backdrop of London with great people. We started off around the Tower Bridge area, followed by taking the tube to St Pauls Cathedral, finally we went to Big Ben. All photos this time were taken with my Sony 16-55mm kit lens using a tripod on the A6000. I have selected a few of my favourite shots from the evening below. Most shots were taken with a 6 second exposure, ISO 100 on shutter priority mode, aperture seemed to change from f/16 to f/22. I noticed later on my lens was dirty as there are dust spots on all the images, anyway, I think the pictures turned out great.
This first image is of the London taken from the south bank of the river. Today was a day with a lot of low clouds/mist which meant that the tops of the buildings had a spooky look/colour. This is better reflected in a picture of the shard which was taken from Tower Bridge itself.

Here the top of the shard is barely visible. You can just see the two red lights which look like angry eyes.

We went to this spot opposite St Pauls Cathedral, it seemed like a popular place as there were two photographers already there taking similar photos. During this workshop, I learnt that double deckers make excellent light trails due to their height.

After St Pauls, we went to Westminster Bridge to take photos of Big Ben. The below shot is one of my favourites from this location as it included streaks of purple from the Pedicab riders.
